Our Story
The Heart Behind Guardian Care Coordination
Guardian Care Coordination was born from both professional expertise and personal experience. As a Nurse with more than 25 years of healthcare experience, I have spent my career advocating for patients and helping families navigate complex medical situations. But my greatest lesson came not as a nurse—it came as a mother.
Â
When my son, Cayden, was born with Down syndrome, our lives changed forever. He was diagnosed with congenital heart disease, heart failure, and failure to thrive. Although the hospital sent us home with the medical equipment he needed to survive, I was left to navigate the healthcare system with very little guidance on available services, community resources, or how to coordinate the specialized care my son desperately needed.
Â
At the very same time, my older son was hospitalized and newly diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Suddenly, I was caring for two children with complex medical needs while balancing specialist appointments, medications, hospital visits, medical equipment, insurance challenges, and the emotional weight every parent carries when their child is fighting for their health.
Â
Â
As both a mother and a nurse, I became our family's advocate, care coordinator, educator, and voice. I cared for Cayden at home until he became strong enough to undergo the open-heart surgery that would save his life. Those experiences taught me firsthand how overwhelming and confusing the healthcare system can be when families are expected to coordinate everything on their own.
Â
That journey changed my life.
Â
It inspired me to create Guardian Care Coordination so that no individual or family would ever have to face a complex healthcare journey alone.
Â
Today, Guardian Care Coordination provides compassionate healthcare advocacy, care coordination, hospital discharge support, provider communication, special needs advocacy, senior care coordination, and Concierge Household Management services. We stand beside individuals and families every step of the way, helping them make informed decisions with confidence, dignity, and peace of mind.
Â
